Eros and Erotica

In Eros and Erotica, Lady Janét R. Griffin does what she said in an earlier volume: “We do not want to do the same thing over and over again. So we create variation in our theme.” This variation consists of the juxtaposition of sharply contrasting content. There is child-like wonder and adult passion; there is an openness that screams out and an introspection that pleads for privacy there is the mundane and the spiritual; there is reality and fantasy. Under girding many of the poems in this volume is the searching and longing for people to move beyond their own selfishness to a place where they can earnestly feel and know the needs of others. There is no question that this volume of poems is about love and loving.
